Alykes Beach

Kalamaki Beach

Kalamaki Beach is a secluded spot at the southern end of the island. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. The beach is long and sandy, with some shops for snacks nearby. Laganas Beach

Zakynthos Town / Zante Town

The capital of the island, with a population of approximately 16,000, Zakynthos town, also known as Zante Town, has loads of bars, restaurants, and nighclubs, as well as many gift shops for visitors.  The town is right on the seafront, and has a harbour and a pebble beach. The church of Agios Nikolas Tou Molou, dates from 1561, and is one of the oldest buildings on the island, after many were destroyed by a large earthquake in the 1950s. About 2 km from the centre is Bochali Hill, with a village, and the ruins of a Venetian castle at the top. After walking up the hill through a pine forest, you reach the top and can enjoy fantastic views over the town and the Ionian Sea.
